From Transformers to Battlestar Galactica, from Alice in Wonderland to Guardians of the Galaxy, Hollywood movie scores tend to sound pretty similar.

This has to do with the incessant use of temp tracks, but I tend to see it in a larger context. All new music is either intentionally or unconsciously based on previous music that we heard, liked or interacted with. Directors even suggest to composers to “sound like” a specific song or style. And this has less to do with plagiarism or “stealing” and more with how all music tends to copy, transform and combine existing material. You might even say that all music is a remix.
